Photography for me is evolving as a prayer form. Slowly I open to beauty and wonder. It is a physical form as I contort and bend, breathe evenly, deeply, and slow as I shoot mostly these days with my iphone in HDR, which involves taking several shots at different exposures, so the camera tells me to "keep still... analyzing..." I live a few minutes walk from the ocean, low tide with clouds at sunrise is nearly irresistible for me these days. Most recent photos I run through several apps and into an "oiled" version, I have found some can be enlarged considerably more than I at first had thought, I have several that show nicely at 16X20, perhaps larger if I keep really still. I also like to do a series of 3 5X7's, most of the images on this website work in that format quite well. I work as a psychotherapist, and these two activities integrate nicely, I work a lot to move clients and patients from the head, where we identify way too much, into the body/mind where healing is facilitated. I do some work with trauma, and of course nature assists in healing at a very deep and profound level when we have become overwhelmed in one way or another. I hope to include stories about art, healing, and spirituality in the future on this website, and I encourage viewing these photographs in the context of healing and health, thank you.
